The install board shows one row per traveller and one colour per state, with a count across the top. It reads each eSIM's state from the network when you open it. In the week before departure it is the fastest way to see who still needs a nudge.
The five states
- No eSIM yet: the traveller is on the roster but no run has issued their eSIM. Either generate the remaining travellers, or check why the run skipped them.
- Not installed: the eSIM has been issued and the install link exists, but the phone has not downloaded it. This is who you chase.
- Installed: the phone has the eSIM. Nothing to do until the trip starts.
- Running low: the traveller has used most of the plan's data. Useful during the trip, rarely seen before it.
- Plan ended: the data is used up or the validity is over.
Chasing without a group-chat pile-on
Message the Not installed travellers individually, with their own link, rather than posting in the group. People who have already installed it do not need the reminder, and the ones who have not are more likely to act on a message addressed to them.
If a traveller says the QR code will not scan, point them to the manual codes on the same install page. If the phone refuses the profile altogether, it is usually still locked to its old network; see our note on checking a group's phones.
When to stop chasing
Two days before departure, anyone still Not installed can install at the airport on the terminal Wi-Fi. Tell them that plainly, send the link once more, and plan for them to do it before boarding.
